Under the leadership of Principal Daw Myint Myint Oo, the Government Technical High School (Banmaw) was opened and its teaching started on 5.5.2009 with 33 staff members and 121 students. Two Workshop of TU (Banmaw) was med on temporary school buildings that year. After the 2009-2010 school year, on the 25th of March, 2010 the school was relocated to the former Computer University site in 3rd Mile Shwe Pyi Thar Wand (formerly known as Wetkone Village). The school is on 40 acres of land.
